Volunteer Organizations

I am just curious to see what else, volunteer wise, our members are apart of. I am a part of an organization that gets Labs adopted, LOLIN (Love of Labs IN http://lolin.org). As of later today, our foster lab Junior will be going to his new home. A nice family in Noblesville, IN adopted him. They are a young active family with 2 kids that play soccer. I am going to miss though.

I volunteer time at the Daytona Beach VA outpatient clinic. Mostly answering phones and scheduling appointments.
People that volunteer time to help animals have a special place in my heart.

I would like to volunteer in something, but with my hours, and not having a pre scheduled babysitter I can't do much

I volunteer for Big Brothers, the high school, the middle school, the library and do yard work for some people too old to do their own. I do computer maintenance and user support for some of the non-profits around town.

recently retired from local volunteer fire dept after 17 years service. still in the state disaster response organization for medical personnel.

When I have spare time Special Olympics of Colorado gets it.

American Cancer Societies hosts a world wide event (well, multiples of the same event that occur world wide separately) called the Relay For Life.

It's a great thing to get in to, and I am proud to say that I have served on my local Relay For Life committee for 4 years now. The event raises millions every year to help support cancer research to find new ways to treat cancer, improve old techniques, and hopefully some day soon find the cure to cancer.


Not to mention it has to look great on all these college apps i've been filling out lately.
