Viper fob

A friend of mine recently broke her viper fob the one with the lcd. My question is can I reprogram any viper fob to work with it or does it have to be the same model?

a viper alarm key pad to alarm disarm the car remote start it.

Probably not. Because "one with the lcd" is 2-way, and in most brands the 2-way systems are a different frequency, modulation or encoding program than what the 1-way systems use. But some brands do use cross-compatible remotes. I'm just not sure with DEI's Viper line; perhaps their website would tell you, or you could just try coding the remote in.

If she has an SST alarm you need an SST remote, otherwise find one on eBay or somewhere and program it to the alarm.

The chick ended up finding the broken remote and all I did was just order a new plastic shell from ebay for like 15 bucks with shipping.
