I want to upgrade my video card for gaming and coolness like that, Ive got an hp pavilion dv6-3010us laptop computer, can anyone tell me what is compatible with this or what to look for? I have no idea what I'm doin here
most laptops are not worth a crap for gaming anyways. build you a decent desktop for that. you can build one hell of a gaming computer for under 900 bucks.
there is a list of models that can be upgraded, and a store that sells the cards, but they are not cheap (about 50-100 more than the equivalent desktop card at least). Honestly, you'll only see these cards in higher end machines, like the Asus laptop I had (I even took the card out for giggles to see what form factor it was) or Alienware or the like. If you're really interested in a laptop that can keep up wiht a desktop, hit up eBay and look for the Gateway FX series. One like mine can be had for around $600 used or about $1100 new and they come with DDR3, HDMI and 1GB GeForce 9800GTS or higher, so I can play GTA IV beautifully. I've had four HP laptops, and none of them were very good for gaming.
alienware just came out with there new m15? i think it was, its an 11 inch gaming "netbook" style computer. its supposed to be able to play gta4 flawlessly. its 800 or 900 bucks stock. u can upgrade.
