i am just setting my beadlock rings on and the valve stem is in the way ,should i drill a new hole in the dish of the rim and weld the old hole up?
any opinions?

Should be able to do that, assuming the rim thickness is the same wherever you want to put it. Just make sure the new hole is the same size and free of burrs (also chamfered a bit so the stem can be pulled through it easier).

this is what me and my dad did on our old cj. the new valve stems we got didn't fit the old holes for some reason, and we also had the problem of them being impossible to get to. so we drilled new holes further in for the new ones. and we flipped the old ones inside out to plug up the hole. hasn't leaked once. if you weld it you have to know its air tight. same thing when you weld the lock to the wheel. it has to be air tight. after that we polished up the weld on the ring so that there wasnt any rough spots to cut the tire
