I was removing my valve covers to change the gasket and one of the bolt just twisted right off.. I tried an EZ OUT and it broke it too. Then I noticed that the threads that go into the manifold below the screw hole was busted. So in otherwords when I hook up the exhaust and I dont but a screw back in that hole the exhaust will come up through the valve cover gasket. I am going to just drill out the screw and retap it and put a new screw in. im assuming thats why the bolt is froze. Will this cause a problem later on, besides freezing up the new bolt if i ever have to remove the valve cover again? also the screw in the Dist. Cap broke off in the Distributor. SIGH!

Thanks,
Chaz.

I am not really sure what you are asking. Exhaust should never come through the valve cover.

let me try to explain this better, Its kinda hard to describe.. If you screwed a LONG bolt into the valve cover bolt hole and forced it( The lower bolt holes right above the exhaust), it would brake through into the exhaust port. This is apperently what happen to this one.

I did the same thing, I overturned the bold and the head twisted off. I didnt counter sink it and i just used some gasket maker, works great and no leaks
