value of a 85 beater?

you guys are funny. it would cost a fortune to drive the whole truck out there :thefinger: and me being 6'3'' the regular cab isnt the most comfortable by any means for long distances.

93 ohio the rear is open and only the front is locked. I not going to pull the gears out of the rear then have a bare housing to try and get rid of, the whole rear will be sold as 1 unit. sorry

I need to look my donor over(85 bronco fs) thats sitting out at a friends farm as I already own it and see whats good on it and maybe just use that as the new beater. its not a rbv but its still a blue oval. Would be a nice change in the wheeling line up.

It is worth more than salvage with the axles and lift kit

Most of our trucks are worth more in parts than as a whole vehicle.

My engine and transmission individually are worth several times the value of my truck as a whole.

If I sold off the wheels and tires I could probably come close to the value of the truck again.

Alright i hear ya on that. Id still be interested in the front pig when the time comes for my explorer.

Isnt that the truth. The tires and wheels on my truck are worth more than what I payed for the whole thing. Sad thing is the truck was really nice with no rust when I got it and actually had some value but being that I got it dirt cheap, I decided to make it a dedicated wheeler and now it looks like a crumpled beer can. The joys of offroading.

I had to put tires on my B2. I paid $25 less for the tires than I did for the truck.

Depending on what you are going to do with the FS, it should have the same 8.8 rear that you have put in your '85 if you want to switch gears around.

I probably have as much in my engine as I paid for the truck, but it probably isn't worth as much.

The 85 fs has the mighty 9'' and not the 8.8. Idk if it was swapped in or what but I wont argue 31 spline 9 vs 31 spline 8.8. Ill go with the 9- for now. Being that it is fs, a 10.25 swap is most likely in order :headbang: as they are all over the yards here and I can snag one for dirt cheap. Then it would just be a matter of the front. It already has a good running 302/np435 so in my mind, its already a good start to having a bulletproof drivetrain with an addition of a 205 and tons and in the event the 302 crapps, a 351 would drop right in its place.
