when i went to se the ranger i was pretty clear:
i want this ranger, and i have this tercel i want to trade, how much ur asking?
he said a number, i offered another, then we found a balance between, thank God it was really fast and easy
my Ranger was meant for me

just show up with a pocket full of cash and tell them what you will pay. it's awful hard for someone to turn down a fat stack of dolla billzzz!! works 60% of the time, everytime!

helps to walk in with the homework done. when i got my 99, he was asking 7200 for it. body was dinged up a bit and had a small shimmy. needed tires as well but in decent shape. i went home and put all the info in kbb.com, printed it out and brought it to the guy the next day and told him that is what it is worth and that is what i was willing to pay. walked away with the truck for 5700.

i got my truck back in july....before that i had spent about 3 months looking on craigslist and autotrader looking at rangers. get an idea of what you want and the price range. took me forever but i narrowed it down to two trucks...mine and a 99..both similar except the 99 had 4wd and power windows, locks etc, but had 107k and the other had 75k but 2wd. lol i just took my time walking around the trucks and pointed out everything wrong with it and what the truck needs. the asking price was 7500.. i told him 6600 out the door cash. the dealer guy sat on it and then eventually called me the next day and said he would selll it at the price.
