Used Rangers have increased in value?

Last time I looked up the retail value of my familys' vehicles, mine Ranger was quoted for $4300 and the Blazer was quoted for $4400. Funny how an almost basic Ranger is only $100 less compared to a full-loaded 4x4 Blazer. I guess if my Ranger had all those options of power equipment, auto, maybe even 4x4 with a V6, it would be worth more.

I wounder what min is worth, its no longer original.

Wow I looked up my truck and 3 years and 30000mi after I bought it it is still worth $2000 more than I paid for it.

No offense or anything but you still have to find the right person that will pay that.

Something is only worth what someone in real life will pay you, not a number in a book (or on a website)

Here in SE Michigan you can't touch a 98-newer ranger 2wd for anything less then $3000 unless its a total hunk of shit. I had to drive 4hrs one way to buy the 98 ranger I have. I would like to have whole car lot full of rangers right now.....I would be a rich man!

I got mine for 1800 and I know fair retail is like 2600 3400 for top condition. But noones willing to pay that much. I seen a 2000 year ranger here going for 5999.99 I was like WTF? Just cause it's clean inside out and has 116k miles... Whatever. I'd never pay that much I'd buy a beat up one and make it new...

Mine went up 1k. Hmmm. I bought mine 1.5 years ago from a private seller but paid trade in value

i should have mentioned I was looking at Private Party value also, which is the middle of the road, trade in is the lowest, retail is the highest.

I sold my '97 to a friend of mine, who lurks here, for $1300. It had 210,000 miles, 2wd, 2.3 l, ext cab with a cap.

I put the good bed on the other truck so it was nice when I was done.

I bought it 7 years ago for $3000.

I had somebody offer me $3500 for my '94 2.3 4x4. I was shocked because I only payed $2000 for it and it's in kibda rough shape.

I'll see if he still wants it. I want a 2.3 stick 2wd.

I tried to check mine...did not find 1988...but the nearest one was a 1990 valued at $1800 in excellent condition...guess it depends on where you look on mine but parts of it are excellent...in the dark...

So every now and then I like to go on Kelly Blue Book and check the value of my vehicles. I checked my '92 Ranger today, and was pleasantly suprised to see its worth $3500 in excellent condition. I can't recall exactly the last time I looked it up, but it was at least a year ago, it was only worth ~$1300. Its worth more now than it was when I bought it 9 years ago.

Cash for Clunkers perhaps?

So your Ranger is in excellent condition you say? Pretty good for an old truck!! I checked Kelly Book last week and mine is in mint shape and it is valued at $5,895. I drove it to Carfax this Monday to help a buddy pick out a good used 2006 Toyota crew cab 4x4. The salesman kept going over and looking at my Ranger and getting a few more sales people to go check it out. That made me feel good. The salesman said that he knows he could get $6,500 easily for my truck. He said the Kelly Book is really right on the price but he said with the extras I have on it and as clean as it is with low milage it will go for more. I told him I don't want to sell it. I love the truck. He gave me his cell phone number and said call him if I change my mind....lol

Nice^^^^ always makes you feel good when someone wants to buy your truck when its not for sale!!!

I've noticed that some people think their BII's are worth tons and tons of money on my local craigslist. Some rangers too..

..I'm never selling mine. I don't care how much it's worth. I got rid of a good car about 6 yrs ago that turned out to be worth quite a bit. I still feel like a jackass because of that and I'm sentimental about that car (85 iroc-z with rare options and in great shape)....Then theres my 86 Honda 350x 3 wheeler that I got rid of for 1000 when it was mint...

*sigh*

I'm leaving this thread now.
