Do i have to remove the plastic intake to tighten the studs for the fuel rail/upper intake? It would seem like it would be ok, but I dont wanna break a damn stud and have to go thru the trouble of finding/replacing it.

Thanks!
Matt

No, you wouldn't have to. If you are having vacuum problems you may want to replace the gasket material they use on the rail / lower intake.

awesome, thx!

Ya, I actually did that (full gasket kit) but I was following the chiltons guide. Got lean codes, hopped on the boards to get some hints...and everyones saying that the chilton/ford outside-in torque method is wrong!

So I was hoping I could save myself some time

Thx again

You can tighten the studs by looseing the nuts several full turns and
tighten the studs by their E-TORX tips then retightening the nuts.
