Upper ball joint keeps coming loose

Hey guys I replaced all the balljoints in my '92 4x4 about 6 months ago. 4 times now my steering gets all loose.

I've jacked it up and the upper ball joint alignment cam is loose in the I beam. The pinch bolt is always tight, I loosen it up and tap the alignment cam back down flush and tighten the pinch bolt.

It will stay tight for a month or so and the same crap happens....

Anyone have this problem? If so, whats the fix?

BTW --> I have the Moog adjustable camber bushings.

No the snap rings are there and fine. The whole camber bushing turns in the i beam but the pinch bolt is still tight....
 
You might have the wrong camber bushing in there then. Stemph part #'s for ranger's begin with an EX-?....

?= whatever degree bushing you have
 
How tight are you tightening it? (they do need to be pretty tight, like 65 ft-lbs or so)
 
Do you still have a gap where the bolt is when it's tightened? If not, then it sounds like the bushing may be too small or the wrong one or something.
 
I've seen a complaint like this efore and what the roblem was there was that there weren't enough threads on the pinch bolt and the threads were bottoming out before the bolt actually "pinhed"

You can see this by removing the bolt and examining the terminal threads (up against the shank.)

That's cool that you're a "tech advisor" and all, but shouldn't you spell check your posts before you click "post" so that you might actually sound somewhat credible?

Point being spelling or not, he does a damn good job at helping out people on TRS with their tech questions.

Yep, I had that problem on my 94 Explorer. Exactly as he said, check the bolt and make sure you're not bottoming out on the threads.
