In your 'User CP' you can 'Edit Your Details' where it will allow you to list what type of vehicle you have.

http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/profile.php?do=editprofile

From time to time, members post a question about their vehicle, but don't list what type of vehicle they have. It really helps if you guys list your vehicle specs in your profile.

good idear.. not enough forums think to add this.

There are a couple of us that regularly have to berate new members for this. They come in, make their first post, and say "My truck caught on fire today. Should I use a garden hose or a type C extinguisher to put it out?" and give no relevant information that might help us, even the year of the truck.

Wise plan!

WAY to many forums I belong too tend to leave you wondering......

Already did it. Did it right when I joined too.

So which years should you use the hose on and which years does the extinguisher work?

:icon_rofl:

hose on the chevy, extingisher on the ford, and kerosene for the dodges.

Holy crap, this needs to be lit up again. Lot's of people asking for advice again without any details in the thread or their profile.

Maybe this should go in other forums as well?

A garden hose is not OBDII emissions compatible and should not be used on Ford vehicles 1995 and newer. It is acceptable for EEC IV vehicles.

For OBDII compliant vehicles a dry chemical Type C extinguisher is recommended by FMC. If one is not available, a 5 gallon bucket of water is acceptable, but may require certain extra parts to be serviced or replaced.
