Just before Christmas I posted an article thinking my rear end was clunking. First of all thanks to they many that posted helping me. Now that the snows gone, so is the clunk. It came back after it snowed again and had to use 4x4. Now last 4 days no clunking in 2wd. I did replace that cv type bearing assembly on back of front drives haft with the part from Amazon and was thinking maybe cheap Chinese steel bearing or?? Broke. I watched a YOUTUBE video last night and one person had a video saying that the transfer cases had a problem with shifting in and out of gear, and that Ford knew about this problem and has an aftermarket spacer and spring. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before? Planning on taking it in sometime soon to a shop that does transmission rear ends transfer cases. This job is above my paygrade so better get a professional to look at it. I'll ask him if he knows about the spacer and spring beforehand. Since there's so many Ranger owners, builders on here, thought I'd have to ask first. Won't be able to reply or see replies til later as running around today paying bills and getting gear for upcoming ice fishing trip. Thanks ahead of time guys
