The driver side window scraper on my '87 was rock solid and missing quite a few chunks, so I decided to treat myself and lower the highway decibels by hopefully a few dozen from that wind noise.

Ordered the "Fairchild" kit off rockauto, about $50 shipped for both sides inner and outer. They also had "Precision" brand for a bit more money.

When I went to install, the size is correct (I dont have vent windows), but the clips are wrong. The new part has fairly uniform clip spacing except for a longer gap toward the rear; my door has the 2nd two clips (near the mirror) closer together.
Only the front and rear clips seem to align, the 4 in between are very off.

Anyone deal with this before?

-edit-
I'm an idiot. It helps if you install them facing the right way forward. I'll make the excuse that my old ones were so deteriorated, I didnt have a reference. And also there's apparently an extra unused clip hole by the mirrors for me

The door panels changed in 89, maybe that has something to do with it. Other than that.... IDK.

According to rockauto/fairchild they each have individual part numbers (left outer, left inner, right inner, right outter) but what I received was two sets of identical scrapers. Cant tell on the truck if the passenger door has the same clip layout, and i dont want to destroy whats on there just yet.

My solution was to simply drill [¼"] holes in the door where the other clips need to be. The holes are completely concealed by the seal, and it seems to be working. The overall fit is okay. I also got the same brand glass channel(top and sides of door/window) and this kit didnt come with the little front corner piece that the factory and Precision brand have (I was using the installation instructions from Precision on YouTube).

Either way it looks like it will keep in place and keep the water and wind out.

I'll update if it all falls apart or something.
