Under hood pad

i have had 4 rangers over the years and those rigs dident have the fire blanket and the paint was peeling on all of them. the ranger i have now it has it and the paint on the hood looks like it did when it rolled off the show room floor. i dont know if the fire sheet has any thing to do with it. i was gunna ask the same question acouple of weeks ago . i dont know if i should toss it or not.

One other question. Is it normal for the side registers to have lower airflow than the center registers? On our Sable, all registers are about the same. On my '69 T-bird, the sides have less flow than the centers.

All my vehicles (Ranger and Zuk) have less airflow on the side vents...but that could probably be improved by manufactureres by simply making the pipe smaller (I'd think)...I'm no designer though...

Actually, I take that back...my Tempo had side vents that could clear the windows in no time (I'm talking heat though, not a/c)...

mine had the insulation on it and the paint was chipping off anyway, had the hood off when i yanked the motor and my cats destroyed it so i tossed it

I have been debating for 2 years on removing that thing. After reading this thread i covered the engine and pulled the thing out of there and put in in file 13.

probably miss it the first time i head butt the under side of the hood when the wife sneaks up to ask what veggie i want for dinner.

Hmmm...sounds playful...why not wear a helmet just in case? LOL!

I took what was left of mine off of my Ranger right after I got it, 8 years later the hood is the best looking panel on the truck.
