Ugly bearing noises

anything can go at any given time for any reason and leave u stranded 500 miles form home on the side of the highway, if u spend time dumping time and money into every little thing that MAY go at some time, u will be broke and do nothing but work on the truck before long. to me its just like the people that replace there break pads and rotors every time they hear a little squeak, dont **** with it until it causes a problem is all

No, it's not every little thing that might go wrong.

It's the stuff you KNOW is broken. When your transmission is whining, it's giving you warning. If you want to ignore it, that's your business, but please don't advise others to do that. It's bad advice.

And some parts of the truck are redundant; not all will leave you stuck (though this one is likely to IF you let it go long enough). I've driven home with a failed (spinning) driveshaft before....it's kinda nice to have two of them.
