that damn thing won't ever die. Screaming 5000-5500 rpm all damn day and it still runs awesome
i Dont see any reason a D28 wouldnt hold up just fine in that. Just dont keep your foot on the throttle when your airborne and as long as you stay with stockish (no bigger then 31's) you should be just fine.
All the tough trucks ive seen have either been won by a RBV or an 73-87 C/K Series GM.

i bet he changes the oil all the time to..... yea right.

actually it has had 2 oil changes... haha first was just an ole oil change with 5x30w an no filter change an 2nd was 20x40 with a new filter.. i stepped it up lol
as far as locking.. i would lock the rear an leave the front open on a 28.... this way theirs not as much stress on the front shafts an your are less likely to break them.. if you had a 35 id say weld it up but then you risk not being able to trun as well.
i would be interested in doing a tough truck. i can see myself being the guy going away in an ambulance.....

It'll be fine. Had this ranger here as a parts rig, guy ran it in tuff trucks, D28 was fine, the frame was toast.hmm, a d28 in a tough truck competition...![]()
I would love to do a tough truck comp! I think I would purchase myself a Hans Device after seeing a few of the hits those guys were taking in a few of the posts.
