TTB, hardcore

Just read through that whole Jeep build thread... WOW. Dang.

That's awesome!

A while back I also saw an S-10 with a D35 up front, but not nearly that cool...

Thouht I would pop on just to let you guys all know the Avalanche is basically done, obviously there are lots of odds and ends to continue doing as there are always are in any project. Took it out to Ocotillo for its maiden voyage last weekend. I vowed to take it easy to find any weaknesses, that didnt last too long but I didnt get crazy with it either. It handled great, it ate up everything thrown at it and we were hitting speeds of excess of 60 to 70 through the sand washes. The rear could use a little fine tune valving but the great news is nothing broke. John Baker at Baker Motorsports did an excellent job building this vehicle for its second time being built. Any questions feel free to ask.

BTW I noticed the pictures didnt show it but the rear end is four linked and is running a Ford 9" with full spool on 4.56 gears.

Nice looking bulld. :headbang:

How far inboard are the rear coilovers? How is that affecting the handling?:icon_confused:

Just in case you were wondering how the Avy functions after all that work.

Guess you could say I am happy with it. LOL

Glad to see Ford parts doing there thing, all kidding aside both rigs nice builds, WOW.

Ford from the frame down Chevy from the frame up lol. Good powerplant with strong axles, btw it handles awesome and this thing was previously built with boxed A-Arms. Happy as can be.

i know where you are coming from with the confusion...this is my old short course racer,a '80 chev stepside with d44 ttb,9" rear and 351w.nowhere near as nice as the avy,but i got a lot of flak from the chevy and ford crews.nice work on your rig, hope to see more of it!

Looks great gwaii. Here is how I think. If I'm tarring from scratch why not take the best stuff who cares who made it. We went to placer city to watch a friends friend race and guess what he's driving. A beamed ford with 9" running a Chevy LS engine. Best of both worlds in my opinion.

excellent philosophy, though in my case it was just a matter of using what i had laying around, though the ttb was a must for anything getting air time.you've got some really clean work going there,i like the attention to detail.
