Straight pipes sound like ass. I highly recommend Areo Turbine mufflers but I'm sure they're well out of your price range.

With or without the packing? My friend has one on his 4.2L F150 and it sounds like c**p.

Me and my friends have only used the non-resonated versions. They even make a Toyota 22re sound good. I've seen 4.2 videos on YouTube with AT mufflers and they sound good to me

Yeah I guess it might sound good compared to what other mufflers make it sound like... Might be the way he drive it too. To each his own opinion though.

I like my summit "fully welded" reversible muffler. Sounds good

My flowmaster duals on my 4.0 sounded like crap no tone whatsoever......... they needed a little work. Should have straight piped it cat back with 2.5 in pipe from the start.

I have the Thrush welded on my truck... Had to add another outlet but I like the sound. Pipes are dumped right after the rear axle due to the body lift.
