Trying to change the fuel filter...


Yeah I had it unbolted from the frame. Still couldn't get anywhere. Interesting. The left side has a metal clip on it that just holds the fuel line to the filter, took that off and tried it, but still a no go.
 
Ok,

We've verified he has the correct tool for the disconnect side. HE may however have the wrong size. The tool should fit over the fuel line and go into the recessed area of the metal ring, where pressure is applied and the line should come apart.

Personally on my Ranger, the fuel filter is just pushed into a large clip deal and does not need to be bolted on or off. Also, one side is a plastic clip and the other side is where "that tool" is needed. I hope you get it!

Right tool, wrong size, like Hardwareman stated. When I changed mine I used the red tool show in krugford's post (5/16").
