Trucks

KT , thanks for the info you can give us , and it sounds like it is gonna be one Badass little RBV , I am glad you guys are doin a Ranger , I have seen so many S-10 builds it is nice to see a change in the works , I will be watching vigilantly , as I believe we all will , keep up the good work and keep us informed.

P.S. it would be cool to see a TRS windshield banner on it

Ya, but then I'd have to skip church......
I was up anyway so I went to early church at 8:30. Caught the mention of TRS.
Mostly I went to early church so I didn't have to answer 15 different peoples' questions at the big service about when are my parents coming back from Florida? :dunno: Sometime I'm just going to get a t-shirt printed up with their ETA on it.

Jim,
My apologies for not giving you the word before the show aired.... They have shuffled our "new" shows around so much that we didn't even know that a new one ( especially that one) was going to be on this weekend.... it's kind of a hamster wheel at work. LOL! Maybe I can get you a copy? At any rate, the truck is not finished, but we have driven it! and believe me its fun! I cant elaborate that much on the entire plans for a while, sorry for that, but I can answer some questions. Once we get the first show aired, which will be in a few weeks) I can go into more detail. The engine is a 4.6 out of a wrecked 03 Marauder, and it actually fit without too much carving. We've both (Ryan and me) been surfing this forum group for a while and have gotten some very good info..... I remember more than a year ago we got an email from one of the guys here suggesting a Ranger V8 swap, and it really got us thinking, since we'd already gone full circle with the S-10, so we really do take outside suggestions seriously., and thank you for them. I hate to be evasive, but we have to be careful with the network when it comes to revealing the show content before they air, but we can definitely share info, just not pics, not yet anyhow.

Thanks for all the help here, and thanks in advance for future discussion. This build, in my opinion, is going to be the coolest truck we've ever built on the show! and it will cover all the bases from budget to full blown high performance before we're through. 300 HP Marauder powered B2500 is just the beginning!

No problem. I'd like to have the whole build on DVD when it's done.

This is where Traditional Media and Social Media come together. It's great to see programs like Trucks TV communicate online with their fan base.

It would have been great if you could have done an actual Ranger instead of the Mazda. It will be interesting to see if we get any discussions on whether the swap in the Mazda would work the same as a Ranger, or how many people will watch the episode and not realize the similarities between the two vehicles.

My wife's uncle has a Marauder (I love that car...). I wonder how upset he'd be if his engine came up missing :icon_twisted:

ME!!!! That was ME!!!!!!! (Paul T) :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo: I asked you guys about it because my brother and I had so much fun and learned so much from this swap, and we wanted to see a ranger v8 swap and put it up against the S-10, and mentioned this site because of the vast amount of knowledge and tech from the members.

You responded(didn't think you would since I'm only one out of millions of fans), and told me that you 2 have been talking about it, but with the poor state of the economy, it was on the backburner.

You guys have no idea how stoked we all are about this!!!! :icon_thumby::yahoo:

wow a B2500
so its a 98-00
shame u couldnt use a 98-00 Ranger
next time put a turbo on that 2.5 :D

Why does everyone care so much that it's a Mazda? It's the same damn thing!

Even though the Ranger is exactly the same a the Maz... RSH, let's just get Matt in on this and round up a front clip:D

I am extremely interested in this build. I'm going to set the DVR for a series record on this project. :icon_thumby:

If I'm not mistaken, all we have to do is swap the header and grille and remove the fender badges to make it a ranger.... (Other than the bedsides....) that's the only real difference. there may be a certain Mazda sponsored entity that comes into play, so we may have our cake and eat it too by leaving the Mazda badges on it. More on that later... other than that, the cab is identical, so any swap tips or parts we used will work on everybody's ranger as well. :) Our truck is a 2001 B2500, and we've actually thought about doing the swap to make it a ranger, but that's still undecided. I'm not sure it matters, other than the fact that some folks don't know that the two trucks are virtually the same, and we could do the swap and show that they're the same. There's so much cool tech to show that Im not sure it's as important to make it a Ranger and sacrifice something else... we don't have much time to "tell the story" so to speak.

Im glad you guys are interested in this..... The whole inspiration of this is the SVT 5.4 Supercharged ranger in 2002....(which seems to have disappeared into thin air) then of course, the email from Paul T (Iron Ranger) didn't hurt either. :icon_cheers:

We'll let you know when the first show airs.... it's a good one! There will be lots of explanation on the project goal, and the truck.

More soon!

I wanna see them SAS a Ranger and put a cummins 4BT under the hood of one.

Throw in a set of the big headlights and you're there. I'm glad TRS got a mention, this site is awesome for all RBV owners. My tuck would be half the truck it is today without it. Come to think of it I think it's getting near time for me to get a windsheild decal:D

nah a mazda is cool
a brief explanation about being the ranger's twin brother shall do :D

This build is going to be awesome.
