Truck Won't Move Fwd Or Rev

ok as i promised i would update when i got my truck fixed, it turns out the pressure valve that give the line pressure in the trans needed to be cleaned because it was stuck. tranny guy hooked me up and im gonna pick it up this wkend. hope yours is up and running by now.

Mine went out under similar conditions, but also it would rev up without moving and then engage suddenly and stall out the engine. It felt like it was engaging in each gear selected, but would not move the truck.

When I removed the pan there was no metal in the pan, only that grey mud. But I happened to shake the filter and it rattled. Turns out there were about a dozen roller bearing pins caught on the inside of the filter screen which meant the trans was junk.

You might want to check this as you pull the trans apart.

Update - Finally

Well Gents, It only took me three months to take it apart. It's a torque converter failure. I flipped it to drain it and it sounds like all the vanes sheared. Theres just a bunch of big chunks floating around inside.
The tranny is disassembled, it looks really good and clean. Other than the the thrust washer between the center support being worn out and the OD Center Shaft being grooved as a result it should be an easy fix.

My apologies to Bryan22, he hit the nail on the head and obviously knows far more than I do about these trannys.
