Truck died, wont start ????

I can't help you with the passenger side locking hub, as I have a 4x2, but if your gas gauge doesn't work, there's a good chance you have a bad fuel sending unit. Unfortunately, you would have to drain your gas tank and then drop the tank to get access to it, as it is usually right next to, if not part of, your fuel pump. I would talk to your uncle first, though, as he is the Ford guru, as you stated earlier. Like I said, I am not a mechanic, so with ANYTHING I say, I would get a second opinion. Or more, perhaps, depending on the situation. At least you got her running! That's always a step in the right direction. Cheers!:icon_cheers:

I also think it might be the sending unit but i dont know. just came across a new problem today, went to menards to get somethings, and when i came out to leave i put it in drive and pushed the gas and it acted like it was in neutral it just reved and very very very slowly creaped ahead and after about 10 seconds it finally engaged into gear and i was able to drive it home. when i got home i put it in park, then in reverse and it engaged hard but was quick, then i put it in drive and it did the same thing it took a while for it to engage. i relized that if i give it a little gas it will engage faster. i also noticed when i drive it that it seems to slip just a tiny bit, almost not even noticeable. im assuming that this is probably just bad tranny fluid and probably a clogged tranny filter. the fluid did kindof have a stink to it that didnt smell normal. any other ideas on what this could be? thanks.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck with the swap. Not to hijack the post or anything, but is a manual swap on a 3.0 very involved? That's the one thing on my truck that I wish I had.

im in a really crappy situation, my car just blew up friday on the dyno, and the tranny in the truck went out on tuesday so im resorting to pedal power for a while now. Im debating either a manual swap, or just selling the truck but i dont know right now. anyone have some manual swap parts laying around?

sorry guys but i sold the truck and broke even, it was fun during the 3 weeks i had it, maybe i will pick up another one sometime soon. thank you for all the help.

Yea I was just happy to break even, but i really did like the truck, sucks i only drove it 6 or 7 times but o well i guess. time to fix my car and then maybe pick up another ranger.

Sucks about your truck, man. Please, bear in mind that does not represent the majority of Rangers. Sounds like you just got the stinky end of the stick, if you know what I mean. Good luck with your car. Just out of curiosity, what kind of car do you drive?
