I've been browsing craigslist looking for a truck cap for my short bed Ranger. What other trucks have a similar size bed that also use the same size cap?

S-10, Tacomas, Dakotas. Many are the same and will fit the Ranger.

Reviving this thread. I'm looking for a truck cap for my '06 Ranger Super Cab FX4 and am curious if the S-10, Tacoma and Dakota shells would fit my Ranger? Thanks!

The bed profile of the Ranger is kind of unique, so probably not. There is only one way to be sure. See if the seller is willing to let you try it out.

From what I remember from when I sold the original cap I had for my 2011, the buyer had a Toyota. The fit was ok but not great. I wouldn't have ran with it but it could have been made to work.

1983-2011 Ranger will fit as long as you don't have a stepside. Std cab shortbeds used the same bed as an extended cab.

The topper on my '85 is off a '94.

I had a topper on my old Sport Trac. I learned there is a third brake light module you can get on Amazon for about $20 that makes the third brake light on the topper work properly. 4-pin trailer wiring harness run to the module and then to the third brake light wires on the topper.
