TRS Event TRS 25th Anniversary Fall Adventure - Land Between The Lakes - September 5th – 8th, 2024

Did @Robertmangrum.rm have to pull you out too???

A guy pauses in the river to create a little dramatic effect in hopes of catching the attention of Discovery Channel or maybe even TLC so maybe they can make a tv show out of it and pay us to do this full time and now I will never hear the end of it. :no2:

I mean, like maybe the fuel pump was off the whole time and I just gave it a bump to refill the bowls and add even more drama once we got her beached? :derisive:

I wish someone would have taken pictures of people getting their door prizes.

I wish I videoed it, especially the begining...

Next year you'll have to go for more of a dramatic effect. If you keep upping your game, the media will eventually show up.

Kind of looks like the same rig. I guess that the inflatable pontoons didn't work out. Did the guys manning the tillers turn them in opposite directions and rip it apart? Hope didn't wait around to take that picture of it sinking and managed to swim to shore before the crocks got them. Next time they should leave the good camera with the chase boat and not on the sinking rig.

Naw, one is a Defender the other is a Discovery. :icon_thumby:

When you guys that got the LED lightbars get them installed post some pics.

Lasfit sent me a message yesterday that they'll contact those that got the $50 discount codes.

If anyone of you that got the discount codes have any problems using them, please let me know.

LMC Truck gave me e-gift cards to print which is what the winners received, but I eventually found the actual gift cards buried in the box of hats and koozies. If anyone has problems with the e-gift cards let me know.

Hey @bobbywalter I've seen people posting and commenting about your rig from the event. Can you give us a run-down of its mods?

🤔

the mods are more....and less....and usedtuh.

more stuff ...

more tire.
more axle.
more engine.
more transmission.
more radiator.
more ground clearance.
more fuel capacity.(in both type and quantity)
more bed capacity.
more load capacity.
more towing capacity.
more stopping capacity.
more steering gear and linkage.

less stuff...

less sheet metal to smash.
less ability to hear wife.

usedtuh stuff...

have a working radio.

custom stuff...

harbor freight winch to replace my poor old Ramsey.

its not exactly stock. but its close. for sure 100 percent a definitely maybe.

I was hoping for more details...

details ....like ....

6.x diesel.

hybrid fuel capacity.
it will run on waste oils. engine.... hydraulic fluids .... vegetable crap ect.

this is accomplished via modified pop pressure of the mechanical poppet style fuel injectors.

you have to disassemble the injectors to accomplish this and add or remove spring shims and test.

i take a 2 ton 12 dollar bottle jack and fit an old injector line to it and test with diesel and a sample of whatever fuel i am using to figure out best compromises on atomization and record those pressure at the crack off events. stock N/A is 1600 to 1800 psi. i have been to 3200...and the rotary pump on this gets sick if that shit quick so keep it at 2800 max in general.

and defacing of nozzle body while it is apart via a grinder or a drill and removal of heat shields ect. this needs to be done. this prevents injector coking when running alternative fuels. the pintle tips will plug right off in short order. the military arctic kit is nice to have as its parts tolerate jp5 and jp8 fuels and are hardened.

this engine has indirect injection so it has precombustion chambers... and almost always with 12 volt starting requires glow plugs or a hot engine to a point to get fired up. 24 volt starting mitigates that.

that done...the increased energy content of the alternative fuel mix and crack psi is going to alter flame front propagation and valve event relationship to injector pump timing.

so you will have to play with it and the cold advance piston reaction due to higher viscosity fuel.

but it will run fine, just have to deal with it.

you know ... shit like that
