TRS Event TRS 25th Anniversary Fall Adventure - Land Between The Lakes - September 5th – 8th, 2024

Like every year... I follow this list as a headcount for campfire pizza.

I guess we will plan that for Friday night again.

I'm still working the logistics on how to get all the supplies there and what will be offered. I'll add more on that as time gets closer.

@85_Ranger4x4 is the FIL and BIL planning the trip this year?

At least 4.5 so far, I haven't heard about Amanda's friend yet.

I'll have to remember to check with Jessica's daughter on if she is even interested in coming. Being she is on her first year with her job, I'm sure she doesn't have the time to take vacation. So for now, it's me +1.

I asked Rachael about the trip. She didn't shut it down right away but did say she would think on it.

I need to address a few important issues:

Pizza: In the past @Uncle Gump has been footing the bill for all of the pizza supplies. That's not fair to him, so I think this year we're going to try and get a head count and collect some money to cover the costs. I know any of you that have had our campfire pizzas aren't going to hesitate to contribute to the cost, because they're amazingly good.

T-Shirts: Also, I have a local sign company that would make us some t-shirts for this event. They'd probably cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $15-$18 a piece. Would anyone be interested? I don't want to go through the trouble if nobody is going to want one. If you're interested, please reply so below.

Headcount: We really need to know how many people are coming, so please reply to this post if you're attending and how many people are coming with you. Your name should be on the list in the first post if you're attending, and you need to follow this discussion to stay aware of any updates or changes.

Sponsors: So far LMC truck is a sponsor, and I think @LASFIT is going to be a sponsor as well. I'm seeking gift certificates to be given away as door prizes. I tried to contact Ruff Stuff but haven't gotten through to their Marketing Director yet. If anyone knows someone over there that could talk to them, that would be great. I sent messages out to various other companies but haven't heard back. If you work for a company that might be willing to sponsor this event, please let me know.

I'm not big on shirts with anything but solid colors. However I feel like this could be a good way make our group more identifiable. I'm useless with faces and names, but at least I'd know who was part of the group.

Saturday night we will be demonstrating some of their LED lights at the campground so you guys can check out the quality and performance of them, and a few of you lucky members will be taking one home with you.

Ok, so I want to come, but I can't make any solid plans until closer to time.

What's the night time weather like there during that time of the year. I'm typically sleeping with a room temp to in the mid to low 60s and won;t even think about tent camping here in GA during the summers. (Not that I've tent camped at all since my time in Boy Scouts.) Was thinking about a cabin rental, but they will likely be booked well before I can commit to going. Also investigating the possibility of a renting a small camper, but will probably be a little late in the game to rent a spot for that as well. Is there any limitation on the capacity for primitive camping area? If I do tent camp, will I still be able to make a reservation a month before?

If I can;t reserve that late is there other lodging nearby, even places in national forrest type areas that allowinw camping anywhere there's a wide spot? I know the national forrests here in GA have areas like that.

Food planning it will only be me, unless I make some big life changes between now and then. Single guy and no buddies I'd want to invite. Also have to watch what I eat due to the diabetus. I don't want anyone planning food around me, a few days of eating bad won't kill me. Just don't count me in for sweets and desserts.

I'm sure that there will be some off-roading excursions during the event. I think I saw mentione of an off-road park. Do those areas allow ATVs, particulary a Honda Rancher? If so, are there any riding gear requirements? I'm not going to wheel the truck I drive, but I might bring my 4 wheeler along to hit the trails, haven't used it for more than hunting trails since I got it.
