I saw that coming...just expected it come from @85_Ranger4x4 as the full on 'sell'

Nervertheless, indulge me...what, exactly, might I expect? Beside Rocky Mountain Oysters?

p.s. I went back reread the park rules and didn't find anything specific to negate 2wd, though I appreciate your perspective. I looked at the above pics and the truck could defintely handle and maybe more (it has?). I'll have to wait for the next event to see if I get banned. If not, I can do as @snoranger suggested and ride with someone else and make the call from there.

I'm pretty sure I read on their site somewhere that you could be turned away if the guy at the gate deemed it "unworthy" of getting around I swore it even mentioned 2wd vehicles. It also said you must have front and rear recovery points.

The guy at the gate has no idea what you are doing, the big parking lot for the actual offroad park is after the gate.

I did see that and I do, in a way? I have a tow bar setup in front and a trailer hitch in the rear. Just trying to figure it all out. Only one way to know for sure if I can't tuck a front axle up front before the next meet. I live on the road and working on vehicles in most places is cause for eviction so, gotta be careful.

That said we did get to see what a 2wd Ranger can do and the fun therein trying to recover it with no front recovery points.

It was actually a 4wd but had a bum shift motor.

And he went way farther than I would have thought a 2wd would go. It was a sandy hillclimb that did him in.

Now that I got a chance to recover and catch up on things, it was a great weekend with great people. Well worth the trip and wanting to do it again.

Congrats to the prize winners and thank you to Midland and Rock Auto for their sponsorship.

Hopefully, next time, I'll have the truck more configured how I want it and can try some of the rock climbs and ledges. Wanted to so bad but didn't want to chance losing the front bumper over it.
