Troubleshooting vibration

Replaced the tires, problem solved. So the vibration was actually a combination of several different things. The carrier bearing helped, the u-joints helped, and the tires fixed the majority of it. When i jacked up each side individually and listed for vibration it was equal on both sides. That told me it wasn't a wheel bearing (could have been both bearings which would have been unlikely). It could have been the diff at that point, but I did notice how untrue the tires were spinning. I read a lot of posts were the solution went unanswered, so I hope others searching for similar problems will find some of this thread helpful. Thanks to all who responded.

Update - well, the vibration didn't completely go away like I had originally thought. So I picked up a driveline from a 99 2wd auto ranger (ginormous aluminum one piece) and replaced the 2 piece. Got it for $50. It was a direct bolt on after I removed the carrier bearing mount on the cross member. It sure rides smooth now. No more vibration at all. I also installed some 4" blocks under the rear springs to make up for sag and give it a bit of a rake. Looks much nicer now too. Now if I can just find some 4x4 length shocks that ride like 2x4's. I was running cheap monroe HD's and it rode like a caddy. But with the lift in the rear I went to 4x4 shocks (sensa track) for extra length and they ride like a board. I guess I could just lower my top shock mounts.

Sorry, I just PM'ed you back. I don't get on here much since I sold the old girl.
