troubles with 89 ranger

The ground is important, I had a ground issue (an '86 turbo engine intake manifold wasn't designed with a place to mount the ignition module that didn't come out until late '88...) on mine at one point and it was somewhat temperamental, forgot about that. I'm only running the coil for the passenger side plugs so I don't see all possible ignition problems

update: ITS ALIVE ! !

Yep, i got it running i had to dish out over $205 to get it running. Starter started to act funny last time i tried to crank it over. So i took it off and had it tested while i was there picking up the $140 Ignition module. It tested bad so i got a new one while there. Spent 4 hours recharging the battery and it turned over blowing some smoke, i was not paying attention to the smoke as i was watching the inside of the engine bay from the hod gap.

So long story short its running and the main trouble was the Ignition module.

Now comes the REST of the cancer ridden troubles that need addressed.

Thanks for the update...:icon_thumby:

Good to know...it appears that your first code was ignition related...like my old Tempo...threw a MAP sensor first and that was the actual problem...cool~!
