transmission fluid leak

so i have a tranmission fluid leak...
2002 Mazda B3000 3.0 V6 2WD 89000 miles.
These pictures are the front side not the rear differential side.
pinion seal? some kind of seal? help?

I didn't know that part leaks fluid? Looks like transmission fluid looking at the color.

Haha true. I'm just surprised how far away from that seal it is...

Its not the seal, there is a small casting hole in the slip yoke, clean it with brake clean and use a dab of gasket maker and let it dry for 24hrs.

Where's the casting hole located on the yoke? And why is there a hole there? Is it a vent?

look under the U joint in the center. its like a vent but when the yoke and output splines start wearing (its normal) some fluid will make it to that hole.

I saw this when I was researching online. Would it hurt if I plug it up?

its ok to plug it up, new designs dont have a weep hole for this reason.

Yeah, I would of never thought that it might be that. Haha what if I get it welded? Would that be better? Is there a tsb for this at ford?

ok, so i decided to do it this way. do i need to drop the drive shaft or just get a popsicle stick and dab with the gasket maker?

also the dealer was like "you can jb weld it, but it might be hard to pressurize the yoke portion. we can't do it for liability reason, but you can do it..." haha

Update:
There looks like a hole. But it seems sealed up? I used brake cleaner and the seam around the yoke on the drive shaft side may be leaking.

Another update: just sealed it. Lets see if it worked...
