trans swap ?

90 ranger supercab, 4.0, 13-54 transfer case, a4ld currently in there, wondering if a m5od-r1 would work or if it would be a pain in the a** to switch them out, also if it would work would there be any other mods i would have to do besides cut a hold in the floor for the shifter

it is VERY possible....i just swapped my 5R55E auto out for a M50D-R1HD out of an '03 Ranger 4.0.....you can use any 4.0 manual transmission, just as long as it is the same drive as your truck (2wd or 4wd)........even the 4.0 SOHC transmissions will bolt up directly to the 4.0 OHV (I know cause my M50D-R1HD came out of an '03 4.0 SOHC and it bolted up perfectly)....

I did it with $1000...which was $600 cheaper than having my auto fixed..
