Trans problem

Just started my v8 swap in a 93 ranger sas,the v8 is out of a 89 stang and the c4 out of a 77 stang, when i bolted the engine to the transmission the starter wont fit because it hits the oil pan, is there a different bellhousing for the c4 or do i need a different trans. any help would be great

the 77 stangs with the c4 used a smaller flexplate/bellhousing. You need to get a starter for a 77 stang with a 302.
