Ok, I was under my new old B2 tonight getting ready to drop my tranny pan to change the fluid/filter/gasket cause I'm loosing fluid pretty bad. Well, when I was getting ready to take the pan off I got my flashlight out to take a better look around the pan and saw that I'm not only loosing fluid around the pan, but also where the shift linkage enters the tranny. The assembly moves in and out a 16th inch or so. Anyone know how I would go about fixing that? By the way, how can you tell what tranny you have? It's a 3 speed auto.

I would say it's a C3 auto being a 3 spd. You can get the shaft seal from rockauto.com

Cool. Thanks. I should be able to figure out the rest. Looks like just a nut and a screw to take the shaft out. Or is there more to it than that? Haynes manual doesn't cover it. Really need to look into getting a chiltons for it. Anything I should keep in mind while I'm doing it? The shift linkage needs adjusting, so I guess that would be a good time to do that too.

i believe the tranny u have is the holy c5...harder then hell to find!

It is. Checked the door code and it's W. Even has the hump in the pan.

lucky bugger id love to keep my auto tranny in my b2 isntead of going to a manual but finding a c5 is stupid hard!
