tranny switch?

my first wife was like that refused to want to learn stick didnt like my truck.. i tried teaching her stick but she would purposely burn the clutch.. i paid for a couple of stick lessons from a professional driving school and according to the teacher she did it fine she got into my truck and promptly burned the clutch..i said the heck with this and never let her near my truck again. the trucks since then have been automatic cause thats what ive bought ive not found a stick truck that ive liked... i also traded in the wife on a newer model a few years back ( less mileage less grumbling etc)

So my fiance pretty much hates my ranger, its the 5 speed, 2.3 4x4. She says its ugly, hates manual transmissions and refuses to even learn how to drive them.

i love driving a stick but we're getting married next spring and i cant afford to get rid of my ranger right now unless an amazing deal comes up that i cant pass up, but she insists i sell it for something newer and more reliable...

well, to save the hassle of selling it, im thinking about just switching out the tranny's. So, is it hard to switch from the 5 speed manual to the A4LD? What would i need to do to make this work?

if its to much money i say screw it, she will have to learn someday, but i do love her and dont want to have to argue about this "issue" at any point in the future. either way, i dont plan on selling it so maybe this will keep her quiet...

It's YOUR truck, tell her to learn to drive a stick or live without driving
YOUR truck.

Frankly I'd replace the fiancee before I replaced my truck.

I can't recall meeting any woman that was worth driving a slush-o-matic
in my personal vehicle.

ide rather trade the truck to keep her...but thats just me. EITHER WAY, yes it is my truck right now, but come next may, its technically both our truck, but ill be the only one able to drive it. WAIT! that sounds nice...only I can drive it! haha!

A feller once told me that women are good for 2 things, an one of'em was nothin'....haha

Good Luck BD, your gonna need it over the years

Also, putting an A4LD in you truck will be a fairly big step away from getting something more reliable.

Surprised no one brought that up yet.
