Tranny lube

Stupid question. Is it necessary to use the filler hole to pour lube into manual transmission? Can you pour it in through the hole where the shifter is inserted?

use the filler hole since you want to only fill it till it reaches that hole... you could leave the plug out but you would need to go slow as it takes a minute to get to the bottom from the shifter hole.
