i have a 2000 2.5l 2wd with the m50dr1 5spd, i just replaced the clutch flywheel slave pilot basicly everything, i got the zoom hp kit. i did everything to correct torq specs.

Now the problem is when im in neutral with the clutch engaged it has a rattle when the a/c compressor is on the rattle is even louder. I was told this is normal because when i push the pedal in the noise goes away.

Also the truck has always done this since day one, while driving at steady speed,at 2500rpm i can hear what seems to be a noise but then goes away after a while. it also does this when you are going up a hill on the thruway. i was told because the tranny uses atf its just gear rattle? also does it when you push the engine to a little bit higher rpms nothing crazy thou.

anyone know what the hell is going on?

i am speculating here but it sounds like the flywheel cover plate rattles when there is alot of load on the engine. i too have had similar issues but mine is a trail rig so it makes all kinds of bad noises.

Could be an exhaust heat shield too- I suspect the idle drops when the A/C is on making it worse. Put it up on jack stands, make it make the noise, then crawl under and see what you can find.
