tranny and motor

i got a 1998 3.0 4x4 i was going to put a 5.0 in it but the budget it keeping me from doing so. right now i got a bad motor and tranny, i would like to know if anyone knows what years 3.0l will go in my truck without whanging any wiring and whatnot i know the 1998-2000 will work but any others?, also it is currently and auto and i would like to change to manual what all would i have to change besides a clutch pedal and flywheel, because i know the 4r44e that in in it now is all electronic shift. ive looked around on here and didnt find anything on this topic? thanks.

also whould there be anyway a 4.0 would fit without changing the wiring? i dont know much of the 4.0 harness compared to the 3.0 harness, and a 5 speed for a 4.o would it also need wiring changed around?

The 4.0L will not fit without major mods to the existing drivetrain and wiring.

First question is if your 98 is a FFV?

ok thats what i figured. i looked in the abreviations and couldnt find ffv? could you define it for me please sorry for the inconvinance. im still trying to get used to everything on here.

FFV = flex fuel vehicle or othewise known as E85 burner
