trailer hitch

So i'm debating on throwing a body lift on my 06 level 2, i'm sure i can figure something out for the front tow hooks but i dont like the look of the trailer hitch hangin down. Has anyone found a way around it?

ive fot an 07 fx4 with a body lift and my hitch hangs down...the only thing ive heard of is taking the hitch off and drilling new holes but other than that idk

How will drilling new holes help? The hitch mounts on the bottom of the frame rails. Unless you have a welding shop remake the hitch to fit in between the frame...

That's the main one I've heard, I've also heard of people fabbing in a gap guard of sorts between the hitch and bumper. Semi truck mud flap works well.....

I don't think drilling the holes to move would affect the strength of the hitch that much, by moving you're effectively decreasing the size of the mounting "bracket" so I'd say it may even increase the strength.

No, it mounts inside the frame rails on Gen 5 (I don't know about other gens). I just put one on my 07 last year.

They mount to the bottom of the frame rails on older trucks (like mine)

Drilling holes sounds like an easy approach, hiddenhitches makes hitches that mount higher than normal too.
