Trailer brakes...

Tekonsha makes good controllers. Some of the less expensive units don't have all the frills. We do not carry anything called a commander and have not since I've worked there the last 5 years, so I am betting the controller is a few years old, therefore not as 'advanced' as they are making them now.

The Commander is a unit similar to the Voyager2, except it has no manual
slide control to actuate the brakes manually.

It has the usual "Gain" and "level" control knobs on either side.

It does have a bank of LEDs across the face to indicate the output

this would I imagine greatly speed the process of "dialing the unit in"
to the particular load you are hauling.

Personally I have three electric brake trailers, an electric brake dolly
a double axle car hauler and a single axle utility trailer.

And for obvious reasons the braking required at any specific time can vary enormously
The dolly can be anywhere between 500# and 4000#
the car hauler is 1880# empty and can carry as much as 7000#

the utility trailer weighs a max of 3500#

I CONSTANTLY find myself adjusting the knob the wrong way,
so LED feedback can't hurt.

MFG date on it is 02-98.
