Trail clearing


I like gribly's idea but if you need to cut trees down; here's an environmentally friendly way to rid of tree stumps. Drill holes in stump & pour salt down the holes. It would make an attractive salt lick for animals. They will come for miles around just to lick & chew-
 
Plan A: Stump grinder
Plan B: Drill a bunch of holes in stumps. Drop an old tire (or 3) that fit nicely around stump. Soak stump and tire(s) with diesel. Torch them. Be sure to bring beer, hot dogs, marshmallows and burning permit.
 
It's all marsh. About 40 acres worth

Sounds like a serious potential for ground fires... Lots of organic material breaking down, so lots of methane present in the ground. Again, I advise against burning the stumps in place.

If they are only 4" stumps, rip 'em out!

Ground water level is high enough a ground fire isnt very likely, but I'll probably be out yanking 'em Saturday :beer:
