some guy just came up to me right now and asked if i would trade my 1982 s10 4 speed for his 2002 kia rio 4 speed with about the same mileage (140,000). is this a good trade? i cant decide? :icon_confused:

Pre 2005 Kia's are pure junk. Car and Driver, Road and Track and Auto magazines said 'Keep away from this brand'!!!! In 2006 the Kia brand stated to be highly reconized and acceptable to these magazines!!!

NO NO NO NO NO!!!! Do not take it for Free!!!!!!!!!!

KIA had a buy one get one free sale several years ago. for that reason, i will never buy (or drive) a vehicle from a manufacturer that sells their cars like bags of chips

Was the truck already for sale or did this guy come up out of the blue and offer to trade? If it was the latter, I'd be very wary of that offer...

kia had a buy one get one free sale??? haha. i was already sellin the truck.

my mom had an 02 rio now that i think about it. the motor blew up driving down the highway at like 150,xxx

i might take the trade just to take my drivers test in the car and then get rid of it after that, but idk

It is a FANTASTIC trade.

The Rio is 20 years newer, and will not have the issues of a 20 year old pickup *Leaks, bad rust, etc*

It will also be FAR easier to re-sell since gas prices are jumping like crazy.

Amusingly they are of similar value.

I'd do that for a dd and gas saver. Money saved from that can go into the ranger that you shouldn't put on the road til you have a steady income and some work done to it.

I will never own one. The resale value's go to shit after just a couple years of owning them. And i was informed by one of the dealerships here in town, that he had a manual kia in (don't remember the name) and it wouldn't engage the clutch. Come to find out the rod that is supposed to be metal, that pushes the clutch pedal to the clutch was made of plastic...
