traction lock clutchs?

so i have to replace the clutches in my explorer 8.8 axle along with another explorer axle iam getting.. any know have an idea how much the replacement ones cost? best place to get them?

got my kit at Ford dealer. i think it was around $150, comes with 6 clutchs, steels, and shims.

holy cow, i paid about $50 for the clutch pack kit off ebay. Get that baby as tight as possible

There are some things to consider here.

When I got mine from the dealer, I think it was around $100 for the kit. I used some of the old ones and packed the clutches tighter and in a different order like the article describes. I would definitely recommend doing this.

However, If I had to do it again I would just get a used carrier from the junkyard and steal the clutches from it. If your going to pack them tight, there's no reason for them all to be brand new.
