sure you can. unscrew the band, use a knife to cut through the double sided tape behind the sensor mount, scrape whatever is left of the old tape off the back of the mount, apply new tape then apply to the new wheel.

The O.E. bands are crimped on.

thats true, but the big hose clamp style ones have barely any threads on them....which means they really only fit the size of rim they are designed to fit (dont ask me why ford did this).

Sorry for the double post, the aftermarket bands we have (work at Les Schwabs) are long enough to do bigger than a 26" wheel.

ya i remembered that after sasquatch mentioned it......i was spacing

i havnt seen any of the aftermarket bands...but the ford ones will only fit one wheel size. if yours are threaded all the way down (like an actual hose clamp), then id get aftermarket ones.

So that they can charge you more for the bigger ones :tease: Why else does ford do these things?

By the Wicked, what dealership do you work at and for how long? Apprentice or Journeyman?

I'm a 2nd year apprentice

this summer will mark the end of my 1st year apprentice. with it being such a small shop, i end up doing a lot of grunt work...but ive learned a ton since ive been here...especially when it comes to newer rigs and deisels. the other techs that i work with are all pretty experienced guys (a few racers, a few that have owned their own shops, ect).

everyone is also starting to realize im the guy to come to for quick, easy answers to their RBV questions :D
