Ok... what options are available for a ranger with the stupid flag mirrors, to get a wider mirror stance for towing a boat? Last time I towed the boat, it was a bit difficult to see around, because it is slightly wider than the truck.

Do they make anything to go on these flag mirrors? Or would I need to get some funky strap-it-on-the-fender mirrors? Or, should I do the F150(95/96?) mirror swap, and use those as a platform to find mirror extentions?

What year is your truck? 83-92 had the F-150 styled breakaway mirrors as a factory option.

Here is what my Ranger has, my '86 parts truck had the same thing.

Yea, I know they did(Mine is a 92). But its my understanding that in order to use those mirrors, there's supposed to be a bracket inside the door that needs to be added to support the lower mount. And I'm not sure I want to mess with finding that bracket.

there are some rangers I've seen in the junkyard that had the bottom bracket with what looked like fiberglass around the holes with thread inserts for the bolts.... there was no inner bracket.

I suspect that if you can't find the bracket simply getting another top bracket and re-enforcing the steel with some kind of fiberglass backing would be sufficient.

can't think of anything to replace the crusty nylon bushing though.
