When you cranked your torsion bars, how much resistance did you have? I jacked up the front so that the tires were about 3 inches off the ground. Jacked up on the tow hook, and put a jackstand on each frame rail really close to the front. Sprayed both torsion bar adjuster bolts with pb blaster and had to use a 3 foot pipe to even turn them. Tires off and no weight on the suspension. Ended up stripping out both bolts but used the next size smaller socket to fix it. I left about 1/4 inch thread left. Anybody run into this?

I've been skeptical about doing this myself for that very reason. Being my truck is my DD, I'd hate to run into something like that and not have it fixed by end of weekend.

My truck was only a year old so rust wasn't an issue for me but there was still lots of resistance on the bolt.

Sounds like yours are pretty normal, on a ten year old truck you should expect some extar resistance....
