does anyone know the size and threading of the torsion bar adjuster bolt? i stripped one of the heads during the crank..

I would suggest calling Ford

I can check what mine are for you in a bit.

I think it's metric, I'll bet you were using a standard wrench?

i know on the explorers its a 13mm head no idea what the pitch is tho... some rangers are a 12mm..

Pitch is 1.75, I'll still check the rest of the specs for you at lunch.

They are made of some serious steel, and have a rounded end, so I wouldn't recomend using a regular bolt. I would get a new bolt from a dealer. I spent like $4 on mine.

The stock bolt has a 13mm head, it is : 10.9 M12 1.75 Stock length is 60mm.

If you've already stripped it, knowing that doesn't do you much good now though... You might be able to pound a 1/2" bit on to it, but whatever you do I'd make sure those bolts have soaked in penetrating oil for at least a few days before trying again.

If ordering a new one, make sure to order it "full thread", and just be aware that replacement bolts have a different size head, you can sort that when you need to and if you need to.

Good luck!
