Guess I'm saying this wrong, basically I live in eau clarie wi, heart of the snow country, and I have a 2wd the reason for this is because I lived in il and recently moved up north. Our winter has been pretty mild so far, 10inch one night but that was the worst, but even in 2 inch I go skidding. My current tires are walmart all season crap. my truck is a dailky driver that can tow and haul when needed, no don't get my wrong I love my truck and would love to mod it as much as possible, but I have to draw a line. the front end thing is more of announce than anything else, but not a huge, deal I just saw the torsin crank would be an easy way to do it but I have ifs. And while I do have automotive training, I don't have the time and space to knock my coils off and take the struts out. sounds easy enough but those things never are.So basically is it worth the time money and effort to get bigger tires and lift the truck, or just get some nice all terrains in stock size, lots of sand bags, i had 5 70 pounders in this year, and just carry a shovel around?I know a set of winter rims/tires would be good, but alas studio apartment should some that up. I was gonna get a bull bar but I thought it would look stupid on a 2wd xlt, basically again drawing the line between dd, and mods. i love the way the mod trucks sit look etc.. with the guards and stuff, but again that stupid line- I don't mind doing easy things ie torsen crank. or cai or exhaust I was just wondering if there was an easier way to do it, (though I do wish it would sit higher). Just outta curouisty what's a bigger size tire than 275,35,15 that could fit on a stock 2004 xlt, with no rubbing, and maybe only have the speedo off by 3, and no brake or suspension issues, cause I'm buying new tires regardless?
Thanks for the help advice etc. I welcome all constructive criticism.
