Torquing Head Bolts/Other

Ok, so what size are the bolts for the exhaust manifolds? I broke everyone so i need to buy new ones from the hardware store.

Also do i need to put rtv on the bolts for the lower and upper intake manifolds?

They are an 8x1.25 thread. Don't remember how long. Just get the right thread to stick 1/4" out of the manifold.

I wouldn't RTV the manifold bolts. I usually spray some of that orange copper crap on the upper gasket though.

High temp anti-seize/never-seize... whatever you want to call it.

It appears pretty the same as the normal silver stuff, only copper.

Not, not the anti-seize. The gasket sealer.

Well after getting it about 90% put back toghter, i was installing the a/c and alt bracket, when i noticed 2 of the 4 alt bracket bolts dont fit. The bolts that go into the heads are to small for the hole :annoyed:. It appears they made the 2 bolts holes the same size as the 2 bolts that bolt into the block. So what size are the bolts that hold on the alt bracket that go into the block?

There are 2 large ones and 2 small ones, i need to know the size of the large ones.

Dur, I missed the gasket part... I was stuck on the bolts.

I put that on the exhaust manifold gasket and the copper anti-seize on my header bolts. The intake gets the red "Hi-Tack" spray stuff.

There are a million different ways to do it, that is how I did it. They always use the red stuff for intakes at work and the header instructions said to use the copper stuff on the exhaust gaskets. I was scared of dealing with the little exhuast manifold/header bolts when they got some age on them so I figured I would try the copper anti-seize.

Also got a question about the alternator bracket, i figured out the bolt size of the larger bolts, its 10x1.25. With putting in the new bigger bolt i lose the ability to put int he bolt which goes into the exhaust port. So is it safe to run the alternator with only 2 bolts in the bracket?

Sensor is for EGR flow.

Figured it out, it bolts on top of the throttle linkage.
