Toreadorranger Build...2 years in the making

I decided I didnt like how much was cut out. If Im going to make halfdoors I might as well really open them up.

Its not like its my DD, and I have plenty of other stuff to drive.

yeah i am aware of that, and i would like to build a main wheeler these days myself...but even if its just a buggy i need to drive it to justify having it.

i am married

I worked on my bike most of the day and since it was dark out I carried my spare door downstairs to start cutting it up.

this appears to have door bars in it....in these cases you want to reinforce the opening on streeters because of that when going doorless as it is part of the cab support. and as you now know after working with them you can make it 10 times stronger and still allow max visibility, good for future learninz.

Man, I am a big fan of this build already. Hope your still progressing on this build! I hope I am around when you take some trail pictures! I love the tires!

The truck is getting a full cage, so Im not really worried about the door bars being out of them.

The door bars don't add anything to the cab EXCEPT in a side impact. not like the cab is a unibody.

Picked up some steel today for this project.

15' 4"x2"x3/16" Tube (sliders)
6' 4"x2"x1/8" Tube (new transmission crossmember)
4'x8' 1/8" sheet misc crap.

Are you going to run an interior cage or exo?

Full interior cage, pretty extensive compared to most builds, it will resemble that of a desert truck and less of a regular trail truck. I want to build a cage once and know that it will hold up. There will be a tube bed also, that I plan on tieing into sliders and cage.

That sounds pretty trick.

Im going to do an interior cage also but just something simple.

Make sure you post up the whole process and measurements! Makes less work for me. ha ha ha

I have bendtech software, so Im hoping that once I get it all built in bendtech I can share the file so that others can reproduce it if they wanted.

That would be great!
