Toreadorranger Build...2 years in the making

Tires showed up today.

Seen this on Pirate. Never knew it was the same truck.

Havent done much, have been busy trying to get rid of all the old parts and Im trying to sell my legacy GT so I can get a truck, its a real pain in the ass having to borrow trailers and trucks all the time.

I did start to take apart the rear 70. Bad news is, it looks like one of the spindles on it is pretty ****ed up. It looks like at one point someone smoked an outer wheel bearing and it warped the spindle. It seems to still work ok, but Im gonna look for another axle anyways. I would hate to get it all built up thinking its going to be ok and then have it fail. Safer to just take care of it now.

New rear. 35 spline shafts and 1410 yoke. It has massive dual piston calipers. Should prove useful in stoping the 47's.

It looks so bomb, you need to get this puppy done!!

On another note, are you going to be running leafs, radius arms, links??

Slow. Work has been keeping me super busy.

Planning wise I have gotten a little bit done. I originally was going to attempt to run hydro assist and a steering box with the new setup. The more and more research I did. The more I realized that a hydro assist setup just would not hold up to the 47's.

Full hydro is the new setup its more money but the performance will be worth it. Complete PSC Double ended Ram setup with Artec Truss and "ultimate high steer".

I would have rather ran Hydro assist as it would be tons cheaper, but I talked to a couple guys who have ran assist on 44"+ tires and not a single person recommended it. Everyone of them said to go full hydro and not look back. Makes my choice easy, but my walet sad.

updates!!!! this thing was about to be so cool. and as i see it worthy of ttc or somthing if it got done

I ordered some parts from ruffstuff for the rear end. Im going to inboard the rear springs, so I picked up one of their 63" chevy swap kits as well as D70 swap kits. Ive always been a fan of Dans parts and its nice when he has kits like this to make a complicated project a little easier.

Sold my coilovers yesterday. Swapping to ORI Struts. ORI's have built in air bumps and have a anti sway feature so I wont need a sway bar or bump stops up front.
