Top or bottom hole for drop bracket?


This is what they said so i guess ill just let the shop do there thing and see how it is when i get it back. if anything its all under warranty.

It is ok to us the lower hole for a 3" lift as long as your alignment tech can get your front alignment to spec.
Some axles can realign easy, others are more difficult. It seems case by case.
Honestly, the issue you are having seems a little odd. We have not head of this happening buy we don't see and hear everything. Feel free to send us pics and more info.

Im going to just let them finish it up and send duff pics to see if it all looks ok.
 
@Shran Yes factory radius arms and crossmember but i have the duff radius arm drop brackets that the kit comes with that drops the crossmember lower.
By dropping the cross member what do you mean?
 
Also i have the skyjacker extreme dropped pitman arm on my parts bronco ii and i never put a dropped pitman arm onto the truck. Should i pull that one of and have them put it on also? would that help this whole issue by getting the steering more in line with my axles?
 
I mean installing drop brackets to lower the crossmember. They did indeed use the ones that you have, correct? This piece:

I think you may (probably will) need the drop pitman arm too. I would use it depending on how your steering looks. Another FWIW, the Ford drop pitman arm from that 1.5" lift I mentioned is basically the same part as you get with aftermarket lifts... Ford felt a drop pitman arm was necessary for a 1.5" lift, your 3" lift will probably require it too.

Using the drop pitman arm will not really solve the bolt hole issue but the truck will handle much better if the steering linkage can move in the same plane as the axle beams.
 
I installed the lift kit myself and yes i used those brackets
The dropped pitman arm i have on my other truck is the FA600 which some people are suggesting to use for 4 inch lifts instead of the FA400 that is provided with skyjackers lifts that only gives about 2-2.5 inches. Does duffs stage 1 really only give you 3 inches? would the FA600 pitman arm be too much drop?

The FA400 pitman arm might be a better fit for your lift. I'm surprised Duff didn't include one with their kit? Kinda spendy too.

I would think the springs will determine the lift height and the drop bracket and it's various holes determine the angle of the axle beam at that height and, therefore, the camber angle before applying adjustments via the adjustment bushings.
